RV-Dreams Rally – Day 1

Today we are registering for the rally at noon.  This morning we just lounged around.  The weather if gorgeous right now.
We went up to the community building and there were tables set up outside for registration.  As always there were several “dreamers” who volunteered to help Linda and Howard.
201004 009We checked in and got our name tags and goody bags.  Someone had donated decks of cards and a dreamer put RV-Dreams logo on water bottles for all attendees.  I paid for my 2010 shirt and we were off for home.
Jim Thomas and Denny had their goodies in hand as we walked back to our rigs.
201004 013 Festivities begin tonight with a catered meal.  The room we have for this rally is a bit smaller than the other two and it was tight getting everyone to the food.  Linda had numbers placed on each table and she drew a number form a bag to determine the order of tables going through the line.  We were sitting at the first table.

The food was good.  It included pulled pork, cole slaw, potato salad and rolls.
Linda and Howard recognized several people in the audience.  They asked who were full-timers and how long they had been on the road.  They recognized, Jim and Pat Thomas, Sterling and Anita Payne and Denny and I for having been to all three of their rallies.  Many other attendees had attended at least one other rally.  Sterling and Anita are Howard’s parents.
201004 016 Those in the audience who plan to go full-time were recognized and the time schedule ranged from months to over 10 years.  Many didn’t even have a rig.
Linda and Howard asked that all of us who have begun our new lives be available for questions from those who are thinking of beginning this life style.
We learned that one couple attending had full-timed for 18 months.  They were in vacation mode the entire time staying in over 360 campgrounds and got burned out.  They are ready to try the life style again but plan to take things much slower.
Howard and Linda devised a game that required teams to answer questions about them.  There were 25 questions and I believe the winner had 22 correct with the lowest answering 11 correctly.  It was fun.

The evening was fun and just wet our appetites for the adventures to be found in the next few days.
