Florida with my Sisters and Dad

Denny and I drove to the quad cities and stopped at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery where Denny’s dad is buried.  We make a visit there a few times each year out of respect for his dad.  We were worried about the flooding but had no trouble getting across the bridge.  The arsenal and cemetery are on an island in the middle of them Mississippi River.

We drove across the river into Iowa and stopped at the golf course where my sister LuAnn works.  We had a drink and visited a little with her while she worked.  She really enjoys the people there but her part-time job has become almost full-time and she seems to be working all the time.  She needs this vacation too.

Lu gave us her house keys and we went to the house and made ourselves at home.  She just had her kitchen remodeled and what a difference.  It is beautiful and she deserves it.   There was a wall down the middle of the island that housed her refrigerator and a cabinet.  It is so open now.  I love it too.

Diana arrived and Jim fixed brat burgers and hamburgers on his grill for dinner.  LuAnn is a wonderful hostess and there was no shortage of food.

We should have gone to bed early but being sisters, there is so…. much to talk about.  We visited until around midnight then headed to bed.  Lu has to pick up her granddaughters and take them to school in the morning before we catch our plane.

Ready or not, Florida here we come.
