Well, everyday life has come into play. I finally got some laundry done. It is sure nice to have room in the hamper and clean clothes.
We decided to attend a movie on Mother’s Day. Everyone wanted to see “Thor”. That was ok with me and the movie was really good. We saw it in 3-D.
Denny and I had seen “African Cats”. It was like the Disney nature films we used to see on television when we were young. The movie was great and I certainly would recommend it. It was nice to see so many attending.
Then we saw the movie “Conspirator” by Robert Redford. Wow! It was so good. Of course we love history and this tells the story of Mary Surratt and the part she played or didn’t play in the Lincoln assassination. It was well acted and directed. We would recommend it to anyone who loves history.
We made a trip to Pontiac, IL to a RV dealer there to purchase a 50 amp extension cord for the rig. We will need it when we visit our son in Texas with our grandkids. We also will be using it at the house to allow us to use our surge protector for the rig.
The 50 amp outlet we had installed isn’t high enough off the ground to allow us to use our surge protector and last year we had a surge that fried our bedroom TV and a relay panel for our air conditioner. We want to avoid that ever happening again.
Any RV’rs out there who don’t use a surge guard should get one and make sure you have the proper cord extensions to be able to use it wherever you may park using electric. We purchased our portable one at Camping World. You can also have one built into the rig if you want.
I will still be ordering an 18” 50 amp extender so we have less cord sitting on the ground but this will do for now.
We feel good about getting some other chores done around our home on wheels and will continue to enjoy our time here with our family.
There is always another adventure around the corner and we look forward to finding out what it is.
