Denny and I did the laundry today once I woke up. I was able to sleep in. Denny had a couple of naps before I got up.
The kids spent the day with John and Shyla. They took them to a splash park so they could play in the water and when the heat was too much for John they came back to the house and played with the animals.
Shyla and Hannah discussed girly things. John and Noah talked about movies, star wars and Japanese art. The kids are so animated when they are with John and Shyla.
They are enjoying playing with the dogs, and birds. Hannah has held one of the chickens.
Shyla’s chickens have some chicks but four of them were found dead the past two days and one of their chickens was dead as well. Shyla is upset. The chickens are her pets.
In the afternoon, Shyla set up a small blow up pool she has in their back yard. She filled it with water and it is large enough for the kids to lay full length side by side in it. We all got lawn chairs and sat in the shade to watch the kids play. There is usually a nice breeze and today was no exception.
Shyla got in the pool with them for a while.
John and Shyla took us to dinner at “The Junction” on the northwest side of Gatesville. The food was good and it was the first time John and Shyla had been there.
Tomorrow the plan is for Shyla to take the kids to the city pool to swim.
