Today started with a temp of -17. Burrr!! Denny took me to work because the diesel had gelled in the truck and he didn't want to have trouble driving to work in these temps. I will be so glad when he no longer has to drive that 42 miles to and from work. Only 11 more work days for him. His smile is back.
Work has been difficult for me. Our server crashed. We had to send the hard drives off to hope to recover our files. We've had to contact vendors to ask for old files hoping to be able to recreate our records if we can't recover our data. Hanging in there though. Thankfully the ballot and election materials are safe. Well, it's a lesson learned. The backup we had in place didn't work as expected so there will be other measures put in place so any similar problem that could occur in the future will not have the same effect. All will be back in place in about 10 days. In the meantime we are taking advantage of the downtime to get all the drudgery and testing done for the election.
Sure looking forward to giving up this responsibility and placing it in the hands of someone else. My staff is great and they will do a great probably even better job when I am traveling the highways in our new rolling home.
