This is the beginning of our blog. We began dreaming of living in our RV and traveling the USA several years ago. We never thought it was possible. We have been talking about joining other fulltimers for a few years. Then Char found Howard and Linda Paynes journal http://www.rv-dreams.typepad.com/.
Char read that Howard and Linda were coming through central Illinois in August 2006 and she suggested a few campgrounds in the area. They decided to spend the night here and emailed their plans. We made arrangements to visit with them. Terrific people, great website, wonderful forum and chat room for hope to be, soon-to-be, and already are fulltimers.
Our dreams are coming true. We have purchased our rig. It is beautiful. We bought a 2008 Excel Limited 36TKE in April last year. It is built by Peterson Industries out of Smithcenter, Kansas. We love our rig. We've been to the first RV-Dreams Rally, Texas and Colorado. It is a joy to stay in. It has all the comforts of a sticks and brick home but it's on wheels.
Denny and I are so excited about our new life style. He will be retiring the end of January (12 days) and I will follow the end of June. We plan to begin our new life travelin' the highways in October, 2009.
