Denny's day finally arrived. We are all going to the plant to have cake and say goodbye to everyone. Our two youngest sons, Jason and James will be going with us. John lives in Texas and can't be there but he is with us in spirit. I can't wait until June when I get to retire too.
There was a nice turnout. Several of the guys stopped by for cake and to congratulate Denny on his retirement. Our granddaughter called her Dad and asked, "how is grumpy and tired". Jason said what? Hannah repeated it. He asked again what she said and of course she got a little miffed. She hates to repeat herself. When he actually heard what she had said it was "how is grandpa's retirement?" We laughed. It was so cute. She wanted to be there but she couldn't have gone into the plant with the rest of us and she lives 80 miles away anyway. We saved her a piece of the cake.
James' girlfriend, Stacy, and her daughter, Peyton joined us for dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. After a terrific meal we came home to spend a little time in front of the TV and contemplate our future and the things we need to do yet to prepare for our life on the road.
Until next time.
