The wedding was beautiful, but things haven’t slowed down at all. Today is a day we have set aside to enjoy the grandkids and for them to spend time with us and their great-grandpa Cassatt.
The kids spent the night with us last night and this morning we are heading to Southport to take the ferry over to Wilmington and visit the USS North Carolina.
This was the first ferry ride for Hannah and Noah and I loved watching their reaction to it all.

Grandpa and our son Jason (Hannah’s daddy) posed with the kids.

We moved on to Kure, NC and had lunch at “Tangerine” before heading to the USS North Carolina. Dad had some fried Conch and let me taste it. It was so good.

Noah was so excited to reach the ship. He is doing a project at school on destinations to visit in North Carolina and the USS North Carolina is one of the spots on his list. He is planning to incorporate some of his pictures of the ship into the poster he is making.

It was great having Great-Grandpa with us because he served in the Navy at the end of WWII and during the Korean conflict. He was able to tell stories and describe his life on board a ship.

It was a long interesting and fun day. Denny, Dad, Jason and Hannah are heading for Florida in the morning so it was time to get home and get a good night’s sleep.
More adventures to come.
